XLR8 Lynchburg Regional Governor’s STEM Academy
XLR8 Lynchburg Regional Governor’s STEM Academy is the 16th regional Governor’s STEM Academy offering programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (subjects known collectively as “STEM”). The STEM Academy uses the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative STEM education curricular used in schools. The STEM Academy offers academic and technical training related to careers in engineering, mechatronics, biotechnology, health science, and cybersecurity. Students attend the program at away from their high school and return to their high school for other core classes. This is a highly rigorous program with a prescribed curriculum that allows students to pursue an academic path of their interest. A limitation of the program is students having limited access to other classes because of time and location.

Central Virginia Governor's School for Science & Technology
Central Virginia Governor's School for Science & Technology's mission is to develop leaders who possess the research and technical skills, the global perspective, and the vision needed to address the challenges of a rapidly changing society. The curriculum is designed to provide a challenging academic program which enables students to develop independent learning strategies. The Governor’s School offers a two-year program in which students earn three credits a year in science, math, and research or technology. The curriculum emphasizes research, internships, extensive laboratory experiences, and the development of problem solving, critical thinking, and technical skills. This is a highly rigorous program with a prescribed curriculum that allows students to pursue an academic path of their interest. A limitation of the program is students having limited access to other classes because of time and location.

Early College Program
The Early College Program is a unique and exciting partnership with Campbell County Public Schools and Central Virginia Community College. Early College is a two-year program designed to allow selected juniors to earn an Advanced Studies high school diploma from their home schools and an Associate of Arts and Science Degree in General Studies from Central Virginia Community College. This is a highly rigorous program with a prescribed curriculum that allows students to pursue an academic path of their interest. A limitation of the program is students having limited access to other classes because of time and location.

Dual Enrollment Program
The Dual Enrollment Program at Central Virginia Community College is a one year program designed to allow rising seniors a unique opportunity to get a head start on their career in the fields of Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Science, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Information Systems Technology pathway, Machine Tool, and Welding. The selected students will earn a high school diploma from their home schools and college credits from Central Virginia Community College. Students attend CVCC in the morning and return to their home school for any required courses for graduation. These are highly rigorous programs with a prescribed curriculum that allows students to pursue an academic path of their interest. A limitation of the program is students having limited access to other classes because of time and location.

Campbell County Technical Center
Campbell County Technical Center provides courses that are not available at the four county high schools. Students attending will take four core classes at their base high school.
The Technical Center is an extension of the base high school. Classes offered at the CCTC provide unique educational experiences that can only be provided by the county at a central location because of the facility needed and instructor expertise required. Students enrolled in CCTC classes usually earn two credits toward graduation for each class they complete.
