The Vocational Advisory Council of Altavista Combined School will be selling cookbooks to raise money to buy gift cards for the Angel Tree Families at ACS. These gift cards will go toward the purchase of a ham or turkey.  The cost is only $10.00 each and they can be purchased at Subway or Radio Shack.  The VAC thanks everyone who helps with this great cause.

All-District Chorus practice will be held today until 4:30.

Anyone interested in trying out for boys basketball must see Coach Harris this week.  Tryouts begin Monday

Winter cheerleading tryouts are on Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5:30.
Anyone interested in applying for the NASA student program please be sure to have your application electronically submitted by Nov 8   Information forms are outside of Mrs. Watson's room
The deadline for the Dec. 5th SAT is tomorrow, Nov. 5th.  Come to the counseling office this morning if you need a fee waiver or help. 

Girls basketball tryouts will begin on Monday, with 7th and 8th grade girls practicing from 3-5pm and 9-12 grade girls practicing from 6:30-8:30pm  All players wishing to try out must have a VHSL physical form completed. See Coach Grzenda or Coach Spencer if you have any questions.

The England Team needs to report to Miss Maxey's room before the beginning of 7th period today to get your fundraiser tickets

Congratulations to the Marching Colonels on concluding their marching season at the Pulaski County Golden Cougar Classic. The band earned high marks in Percussion, Marching, Drum Major, and finished 3rd place in Class A with 13 bands in their category. Thank you seniors for all your hard work!

Congratulations to Amanda Tuck for qualifying for the State Cross Country Championships.  Congratulations to Colin Blanks, Oshea Nowlin, Kevin Yang, and Ashton Reynolds for being named All Region Runners yesterday, along with Zach Borders, James Monroe, and Travis Brooks.  The boys team were Regional Champions. Ashton Reynolds finished in a superb third place as an individual.  Congratulations to Coach Smith for being named Region 1A East Boys Coach of the Year
