Tonight is an orange out game for the boy’s and girl’s conference finals basketball games tonight. Come support the Colonels.

The orders for the football shirts with our team roster on the back has been extended thru this Friday. Please turn in orders to M. Shores or Mrs. Watson.

Congratulations to the Forensics team for placing second at the Conference, which was held at Galileo Magnet High School. Six of the nine members will be competing at the Region with the other three teammates serving as alternates. All members competed with excellence and placed as follows:
James Davis - first place Extemporaneous Speaking
Kat Bivens - first place Poetry
Ty Woodruff - fourth place Poetry
Bekah Greer - second place Humorous Dramatic Interpretation
Matt Hazelwood - fourth place Prose
Taylor Hall - fourth place Storytelling 
Tiffany Dawson - third place Original Oratory
Maggie Greer and Kayla Haley - first place Duo Humorous Dramatic Interpretation

There will be no weightlifting this week due to the VSHL Dead period.

Track practice will begin on Monday, you must turn in your physical to Mrs. Emerson.

Middle School All-District Chorus Students will practice today after school until 4:30.

Southside Electric is presenting an opportunity to experience and learn about the duties and responsibilities of an electrical lineman through "A Day in the Life of a LIneman".  
If you are currently attending the Tech Center, this will be handled through Ms. Wilson.  If not, see Mrs. Hanson in the counseling office by Friday, Feb. 27th if you want to attend. 

Are you a high school student that is interested in attending the University of Virginia?  Are you curious about the classes and the learning environment?  The UVA Class Shadowing Program provides high school students who are unable to stay overnight with the option to sit in on a college class of their choosing.  Please see Mrs. Hanson for the website and additional information.  

The UVA Engineering School Open House is Saturday March 21th, an event for those who are interested in learning about how engineers make a difference and the engineering programs at UVA.  See Mrs. Hanson or your science or math teacher for more information.
