Picture retakes will be Thursday November 3rd.  You will need to bring $3 for retakes unless you were absent on Picture Day.

The Anti-Bullying Club will meet today from 3:00 - 4:00.

Chorus students who are auditioning for All-District Chorus will practice Wednesday and Thursday this week until 4:30 pm.

Girls Basketball will have Open Gym on Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30 pm in the Old Gym.

Girls Soccer will have Open Gym today from 3:00 - 4:30 pm in the Old Gym.

Congratulations to the Junior Class for their 36 - 6 victory over the Senior Class in last night's Claire Parker Powder Puff football game.

National Junior Honor Society candidates should submit your application by Friday.

All overdue library books and fines are due by Friday.  Those who do not settle up will be placed on the Fees Owed List.

FBLA pizza orders are due Thursday morning to Mrs. Hundley.

"Long live the Colonels" Spanish T-shirts are still on sale.  We have added short sleeve T's for $10.  New deadline is November 4. Order forms are in Mrs. Hines' room, D113.

The National Center for Women and Information Technology Award for Aspiration in Computing application deadline is Monday November 7th.  See Mrs. Hanson for details.
  
Any student in grades 8 - 11 who is interested in going to China with Crumbtrail should attend an informational meeting in the auditorium this Wednesday the 26th at 6:30 pm.  Please RSVP to Ms. Maxey. 

Hotel Transylvania will be shown for dinner and a movie outside on the lawn of the Booker Building this Saturday October 29th.  The lawn opens at 7pm.  Tickets purchased in advance are $5 and include the movie, two slices of pizza, cookies and a drink. Tickets bought at the door are $2 and do not include dinner.

Mrs. Manning will hold a Biology study group in her room every morning before school for any student who would like to review for upcoming tests or who needs additional help.

The Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation Scholarships are now available.  Eighteen scholarships range from $1000.00 to $10,000.00 to be awarded to the best essays in the state.  The application and an essay on General Lee or General Jackson is due to Mr. Gafford by February 1st, 2017.

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is offering free summer programs that can earn college credit and enhance your education.  You can get a flyer from the counseling office or your science teacher.

Girls on the Run Celebration 5K will be Saturday November 19th at Sweet Briar.  If any AHS student needs community service hours, we have a bus reserved to transport all volunteers.  Sign ups are located on the bulletin board across from Mrs. Watson's room.
