The 8th grade Writing SOL is March 8th and 10th.

The 11th grade Writing SOL will be given on March 9th and 11th.

Anyone interested in going to the driving range March 21-25 please see Ms. Bradley. The cost is $100.

The FBLA meeting has been changed to Tuesday March 9th immediately after school in room 221.

Breakfast is free all week for students

The Armenian Education Center is offering $1000.00 essay scholarship.  Information is in the counseling office.  Deadline to submit and mail is April 4, 2016.

Girls in grades 9-12 who are playing tennis need to meet in the downstairs middle school health room at 3:15 today.

Congratulations to the boys basketball team for their 65-48 win over Honaker Saturday

Congratulations to the following chorus students who performed in Saturday's All-District VI Chorus performance: Ashley Brown, Ashtyn Dudley, Aidan Rees and Sheyenne Painter. 

Centra Health is offering Medical Careers Camp this summer.  Students have an opportunity to explore the various facets of health care by participating in hands on activities.  Pick up a flyer in the counseling office with the website to apply.  Deadline is April 25th.

Congratulations to the Forensics team for a job well done at Saturday's 1A East Region Tournament. Three of our students are advancing to the State Tournament on April 2nd.  James Davis placed 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking, Jacob Ozan placed 3rd in Humorous Interpretation and Nick Conner placed 4th in Storytelling and will serve as an alternate. 

We are continuing to collect relief items for Appomattox this week. Thursday will be the last day to bring in any items that you would like to donate. Needed items include diapers/toddler pull ups, personal hygiene items (shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.), batteries, flashlights, basic first aid kits, and canned goods.  Please bring any items that you are donating to the Main Office.

Basketball cheerleaders will be taking their pictures tomorrow.

Congratulations to the High School Concert Band on their amazing performance this past Friday at the VBODA District 6 High School Concert Assessment in Blacksburg, Virginia.  The Band received Superior ratings on stage and a rating of Excellent in Sight Reading, giving them an overall rating of Superior. They were 1 point away from a perfect score.
